KEEP IT GREEN
PLEDGE 1
We pay our bills to keep Devon green, not
have sewage in our water, and we shouldn't
pay twice for water bosses' failure to do their
job. Labour will make the water bosses clean
up their own mess.
GETTING CONNECTED
PLEDGE 2
HS2 is no good to us. In this part of Devon, no
town has a rail station, and our bus network
doesn't meet our needs. I'll be working hard as
your local MP to get this changed as Labour is
committed to green transport.
A FAIR NHS FOR US
PLEDGE 3
Our local NHS has been ground down with the closure of local hospitals, lack of dentistry and
doctors, forcing us to travel for help or worse,
pay again. I believe in an NHS that delivers,
Labour founded the NHS and will always
defend and fund it to meet our needs.
HOMES NOT GHOST TOWNS
PLEDGE 4
Our towns, villages and parishes are at risk of
becoming deserted if we can't build or utilise
existing housing to meet local needs. I believe
a home should be lived in and I am
committed to this.
ROADS NOT HOLES
PLEDGE 5
In the 21st century we have roads from the 19th because of the Lib Dem/ Conservative coalition. We need our fair share of the money so our roads are fit for purpose and we can stop playing 'dodge the pothole'.
LEARNING FOR LIFE
PLEDGE 6
Education and skills training isn't a luxury, it's a necessity. A tenth of the money has gone from Devon schools since 2010 and skillstraining isn't meeting local business needs. Labour has always been committed to education and training and as your local MP I'll be there to get us the education and training we all deserve.
POUNDS IN YOUR POCKET
PLEDGE 7
We pay more in tax but are getting less in return. Our bills have gone up because the economy has been left in a mess. Labour will manage the economy for prosperity. I'll be you local MP working hard to get more money in our pockets by revitalising high-streets and businesses.
